Configure material-dispensing verification.

Translate dispensing instructions into proposed material-identity, lot-status and quantity checks with traceable exceptions.

You: Configure dispensing checks for BOM-209. The balance says 5 kg—why should this dispense still stop?

neil

The BOM requires RM-11, but the scan identifies RM-12. A released lot at exactly 5 kg is still the wrong material. I would make identity, lot eligibility and quantity independent conditions in the proposed workflow.

You: What should the operator see when the scan is wrong?

neil

The required RM-11 identity and scanned RM-12 identity should remain visible, with a clear request to resolve the mismatch. The workflow must not change the expected material to match the scan or let a correct weight override the failure. Any authorised substitution needs its own controlled path.

You: Configure the proposed fields and verification cases. Keep the unresolved decisions visible.

Here is the design proposal, with source-linked fields and expected test behaviour. The tests are not executed; the configuration still needs owner review and verification.

BOM-209 dispensing controls and verification cases

The balance reading satisfies the nominal target, but the scanned material is RM-12 rather than the required RM-11. Treat identity, quality status and quantity as separate conditions. A released lot and a correct weight cannot compensate for the wrong material. The proposed verification case should preserve all three observations and demonstrate that normal completion remains blocked on the identity mismatch.

Inputs needed for your own records
  • Dispensing instructions and bill-of-material version
  • Lot identity, status and compatible balance interfaces
  • Quantity tolerances, units and exception-review requirements

The manufacturing owner verifies devices, units and exception behaviour in the intended environment. Configuration does not authorise use of a held lot.

BOM-209
scanned_lot Material / lot reference
Resolve scan identity and compare against the requirement
SCAN-209
lot_eligibility Linked status evidence

Verification cases

DP-01 / RM-12, released, 5 kg
Refuse material match even though quantity and release state appear suitable
DP-02 / RM-11, on hold, 5 kg
Refuse lot eligibility independently of identity and weight
DP-03 / RM-11, eligible, quantity outside the approved tolerance
Refuse the quantity condition and preserve actual measurement
DP-04 / All defined identity, eligibility and quantity conditions met
Allow the defined next step without bypassing remaining execution controls

Decisions before implementation

Define the dispensing conditions
Manufacturing process owner
Specify the required material reference, compatible lot/status rules, quantity tolerance and any authorised substitution process.
Test independent failure paths
Workflow verifier
Use wrong identity at correct weight, correct identity on hold, wrong quantity and a fully eligible case. Record actual results against the proposed version.
